How in the world are numbers related in any way to making a winning presentation? Well, if you know how to count from 1 to 5, then you have a number of steps you can take to create a winning pitch.
The first thing to do is to figure out what your main theme is. Once you’ve got this in place, it’ll be easier to make your copy, visuals, and speech cohesive in thought. Next, compare or contrast in order to give you audience a better idea of what you’re talking about.
Now that you’ve got a clearer description of your information, it’s time to arrange them in a way that makes sense. Don’t forget to settle on a beginning, middle, and end, and make sure that you transition smoothly from one section to another. After that, take a step back and identify any possible events that might come up unexpectedly. Implement some back-up plans so that you’re ready to tackle any questions your audience may have.
Lastly, make sure that you’re nearly done with your speech by the time you have only five minutes left in your speech. Nothing makes an audience member feel more disappointed than a speech that was haphazardly concluded. Don’t leave them hanging with too little information, but at the same time, don’t give away everything you’ve got to leave them wanting for more.
